I am new in Dubai; how do I find the Cara showroom?

Not to worry. We run a ‘Book A Driver’ service managed by an efficient team of drivers. Just give us a call on +971 4 347 8089, schedule your appointment and leave the rest to us. Our pick and drop service, to and fro from to your hotel, will take care of your transport needs.

Can I buy from you if I live outside Dubai?

Of course, we proudly ship worldwide. Additional duties may apply country wise but we will confirm these with you before shipping.

How does the Cara Jewellers service work?

Based on your requirements, you can choose out of our extensive jewellery inventory. In case we do have your dream jewellery piece in our ready stock, we can craft it especially for you as part of our bespoke design service.

What is this bespoke design service?

For our bespoke design service, we begin with a personal consultation (in person or virtually), to discuss your requirements, occasion, preferences, price point, the delivery date and other necessary details. As per discussion, our jewellery designer will share a 3D rendering of your desired piece using the latest imaging technology, along with a quotation, within 1-3 days, for a review.

Post modifications according to your feedback, a 3D model would be printed using our state-of-the-art 3D printer which will also serve as a mold for the final piece. We will then advise you on choosing the right diamond or gemstone with as little or as much guidance as you need. Once you are satisfied with the final design, we will manufacture your jewellery piece and notify you. You can either collect it from one of our showrooms or we can deliver it to you, whichever way is suitable for you.

How quickly can you create and deliver a custom piece?

The whole process takes anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending on the design and materials required for the jewellery. However, speedy deliveries have been our forte and our aim is to minimise the time taken.

Can I upgrade or exchange my diamond jewellery in the future?

We offer a range of options for upgrading or exchanging your diamond or diamond jewellery. Bring your originally purchased jewellery from Cara together with the Official Receipt and Certificate. You may select the piece of jewellery you want in exchange for the original piece you purchased. Post the valuation of the piece of jewellery you are exchanging, you need to pay only the difference between the valuation and the price of the new jewellery that you have chosen.

What other post sales services do you provide?

We provide ‘polishing and detailing’ service also. Bring us your pieces of jewellery to be polished and detailed. Post inspection, you will receive a confirmed date of job completion, which will depend on the quantity and design of the pieces you brought in for servicing.

Do you offer a rush order service?

Yes – for most designs, we can provide a rush order service, which will guarantee you receive your ring within 2 working days. This service varies in price depending on the style of your jewellery. (Contact us link here)

Are there any limits to what you can design and create?

With our expertise of 24 years in this field, we can design and create almost anything. We will try our level best to make the final jewellery closest your desires and imagination. We may sometimes make suggestions on how to ensure your jewellery stands the test of time and where we need to follow certain steps for best production.

Can you find me any colour and size diamond or gemstone?

Are the sizes and colours of products shown on the website accurate?

While we have made every effort to display the size and colours of the products appear as accurately as possible on the site, we cannot guarantee that your monitor or screen's display of any colour will be completely accurate, as colours on many computer monitors and screens of electronic devices vary. Size of some products may also vary from the actual product or as displayed on the website.

Can I use my own diamond or coloured gemstone?

Yes! If you have inherited, purchased or received your diamonds or gemstones elsewhere, we can still create your desired jewellery piece. You get to keep the gemstone with you all the time. We will measure your gemstone in front of your eyes for design reference and once the mold is manufactured, we will set the gemstone in front of eyes just before the final delivery. If your diamond is not graded or certified, we can have it done from GIA and this costs a certain amount.

Can I remove or swap one gemstone or diamond for another?

Yes, we can change gemstones and diamonds for you but it all depends on the size of the particular gemstone or diamond. You can choose from our extensive inventory of loose diamonds and gemstones. You will need to pay for the new gemstone as well as the setting services.

Which metals does Cara recommend?

We work with gold in 18ct white, yellow and rose gold. We also make jewellery in 950 Platinum. While all our metals are stunning, for a white ring, we recommend platinum due to its endurance and natural white colour. Our white gold has a high palladium content to ensure it has an enduring white finish, but even so it will need to be re-plated every 12 months or so (depending on wear). All our rings are hallmarked for an additional stamp of quality. They are all nickel-free and ethically sourced. We do not work with palladium, black gold, titanium or tungsten.

Can I combine two or more different metals in a design?

Yes, we can combine all three shades of gold in the which ever combination of your desire.

How are the jewels packaged?

Our packaging perfectly complements your bespoke jewels. Your jewellery will be sent or given to you in a beautiful and sturdy jewellery box with a an additional travel pouch, so you do not have to travel with a box. The boxes and travel pouches are lined inside with soft fabric that take care of your jewellery and ensure its safety from scratches.


Diamonds & Gemstones

Where do your diamonds come from?

We buy cut and polished diamonds directly from reputable and trusted companies to ensure our customers get ethical diamonds in the quality you deserve, for the right price.

What are the 4Cs?

The 4Cs represent the four main characteristics of diamonds- Cut, Colour, Carat and Clarity; that are most commonly used to grade and categorize them. (Click here to know more- link to jewellery knowledge page)

How can I be sure I am receiving the actual diamond I have paid for?

Each of our diamonds, 25 cents and above, come with a unique international Certification (GIA, HRD, IGI, Etc.) grading report that is only associated with the diamond you have purchased. Should you take this diamond to any jeweller, weigh it or examine it using a 10x magnifying loupe, you will see that the characteristics listed in the report correspond precisely to those of the actual diamond. As an additional measure, your diamond is laser engraved with its unique code that corresponds to your grading report.

All diamond jewellery pieces come with Cara certificate with a product code and exact details of the jewellery mentioned that could be matched by any jewellery if in doubt.

What types of gemstones and diamonds do you offer?

We usually offer diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires gemstones in the jewellery. We also have a wide range of coloured diamonds and other coloured gemstones as well. What is the difference between precious and semi precious gemstones?

Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds and Sapphires are popularily called as precious stones, while all others are semi-precious. This distinction reflects the rarity of the respective stones as well as their quality. All precious stones are translucent with deep colours in their purest forms, except for the diamond. Diamonds can be transparent or even coloured. Coloured diamonds are much rare than transparent diamonds. Coloured stones are classified by their colour, translucency and hardnes

The traditional distinction does not necessarily reflect modern values many high quality semi precious gemstones can be much more expensive than low quality precious gemstones and thus their price and use in jewellery can differ.

Can I have my damaged/worn stone made to look new again?

If your stone is chipped, scratched or has multiple abrasions, we can have a gemstone cutter take a look to see what can be done to make it look better. The stone will just require a cut and polish in most cases. The decision that this can or cannot be done while the stone is still in its setting, depends on the jewellery piece, otherwise the stone may have to be removed from the setting.

Do your prices change often and how long are quotes valid for?

Our prices are updated monthly to reflect changes in global metal and diamond prices. Any quote sent to you by a Cara consultant is valid for 14 days.

Returns, Shipping, Taxes & Cancellations

How will the parcel be delivered?

All shipped orders are fully insured and tracked using renowned and safe global courier services.

Can you ship to an alternative address?

If you are unavailable to sign for your order, Cara can ship your order to any other convenient location. However, extra security precautions will be carried out to protect our customers against fraud.

What is your return policy?

Our return policies are as follows:

  • i)We offer customers the opportunity to return their product within 30 days of their order being delivered.
  • ii)Should you decide to return your jewellery piece, we will offer you a refund, provided the jewellery piece should be unworn and in original condition without any damage and with all accompanying documents and materials.
  • iii)In case you wish to return your old Cara jewellery piece, you can buy any other jewellery piece from Cara in exchange for the previous one.
  • iv)Please note that the return of items with diamonds or gemstones over the value of £10,000 is subject to approval.
  • v)Returns of specially crafted bespoke bespoke jewellery pieces are subject to management approval.

Can I claim back VAT?

The UAE government will apply on 5% VAT on jewellery items from 1 January 2018. The government also does not facilitate the VAT refund, therefore, you cannot claim you VAT back.


Aftercare
Do you offer aftercare services?
We offer the following complimentary aftercare services with every jewellery piece that you buy from Cara:

  • i)Free re-sizing in case your fingers size has increased or decreased.
  • ii)Free polish and clean up to take care of the signs of wear.
  • iii)Free repair in case of minor damages such as re-setting a small stone or repairing a damaged claw. Other repairs are chargeable at our discretion.
